Reflection on Creating an E-Portfolio Website with Wix

Creating my e-portfolio using Wix was a really valuable learning experience. One of the main benefits I gained was being able to organize my work in a creative and personal way. Unlike traditional assignments, the e-portfolio allowed me to reflect on what I had learned and how I had improved over time. I enjoyed designing the website layout and thinking about how to present my projects in a way that looks clear and professional. It made me feel more connected to my learning, and I was proud to see everything come together in one place.

Using Wix also helped me learn how to combine different things like pictures, videos, and text to make my work more interesting. I learned how important visual design, colors, images, and even video can be when presenting content. It wasn’t just about writing; it was also about using different things together to share my ideas in a better way. This process really changed the way I think about learning. It helped me see how digital tools can make learning more interesting and meaningful. It also made me more aware of digital literacy and how important it is in today’s education and communication.

In the future, when I become a teacher, I think I will try using e-portfolios or fun projects with videos and pictures in my class too. I think students will like having the chance to be creative while still learning something important. For example, instead of a paper assignment, I could ask students to create a mini digital portfolio about their learning progress or reflections. It would not only help them review what they’ve learned but also give them a product they can be proud of.

That said, there were quite a few challenges during the process. One of the most difficult parts was adjusting the fonts and layout in Wix. There were so many design options, and I sometimes felt stressed because I wanted the website to look nice and be easy to use. At first, I also had trouble with setting up a comment box for peer feedback. Wix didn’t have a comment box built in, so I had to find one in the Wix app market and figure out how to add it to my website. Another issue was color contrast, I had to make sure the text was readable against the background, which required some testing.

To overcome these problems, I spent time watching YouTube tutorials and reading articles about how to use Wix effectively. I also asked a few friends for help when I got stuck, and we shared useful tips with each other. The more I played around with it, the more I got used to using Wix. Until now, even though it took more time than I expected, I was happy with the result and felt more confident using digital tools. To sum up, building the e-portfolio on Wix helped me grow not just as a student, but also as a future teacher. I got better at using tech tools, became more creative, and thought more about how I learn. I hope to bring this kind of meaningful project into my own classroom someday.
